Our Story

In 2018, a home business owner selling baked goods was on the verge of closing her business to pursue other career goals overseas. Instead, a small team came together to build a solution that allowed her to fully operate from abroad. Quickly, she began merchandising her items online through social channels, accepting orders directly on her own website, processing payments, and dispatching deliveries direct to her customers. By the end of 2018, she grew her business 20-fold, all whilst working remotely. ordable/ was born out of the technology built for business owners with a need to grow.

Front-End Developer – Shoppable Experiences

At ordable/, commerce doesn’t stop at a website. We believe every surface can be a store — a mobile app, a TV menu, a chatbot, even an AR lens. Our mission is to put merchants everywhere their customers are.

As a Front-End Developer at ordable/, you’ll build ready-to-launch, shoppable experiences that plug directly into our APIs. These aren’t just websites — they’re living templates and applications that will be commercialized and adopted by merchants across the region. Your code won’t just ship, it will scale: powering thousands of storefronts and enabling merchants to sell anywhere, instantly.

This role is for builders who think beyond screens — who see the checkout button not as a feature, but as an opportunity to redefine how buying happens.

What You’ll Do

  • Build shoppable experiences that integrate with ordable/ APIs:
    • Web storefronts (React.js / Next.js)
    • Mobile apps (React Native, PWAs)
    • Special Case Experiences: TV apps & IPTV menus, Conversational commerce (chatbots, voice assistants)
    • Emerging channels (AR/VR, wearables, future interfaces)
  • Develop commercial-grade templates that merchants can adopt and customize out of the box.
  • Ensure every experience is fast, responsive, accessible, and multilingual (Arabic + English by default).
  • Contribute to our template marketplace, where your work becomes reusable assets for entire industries (F&B, retail, services, events, bookings, and beyond).
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to turn prototypes into beautiful, frictionless buying journeys.
  • Write code that can be extended by partners, agencies, and the developer ecosystem.
  • Constantly explore what’s next — be it AI-driven shopping, immersive AR stores, or commerce through new digital surfaces.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of front-end development experience (or equivalent through demonstrable portfolio / GitHub).
  • Strong skills in React.js, Next.js, and React Native.
  • Experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs into front ends.
  • Comfort with CSS frameworks (Tailwind) and component-driven design.
  • Strong grasp of performance optimization, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience with emerging platforms (TV apps, chatbots, AR/VR) is a plus.
  • Written and spoken proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you think like a builder, not just a coder.
